Welcome! Arconic is continuing to work with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC), and the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe (SRMT) to conduct long-term monitoring and maintenance following the implementation of the EPA selected clean up plan, which included dredging and capping in a 7.2 mile stretch of the lower Grasse River between 2019-2021. This website provides the information you need to stay informed about the project.
What's New
Users of the Grasse River: Marine equipment will be stored over the 2024-2025 winter just upstream of the Route 131 bridge on the north side of the river – see additional details. Please maintain a safe distance from this equipment and use extreme caution when traveling through this area.
Work in 2025 includes implementing the long-term monitoring and maintenance program, monitoring reconstructed habitats, and repairs to the portion of the cap that was damaged after placement.
